Lenny Santana
I am happy to welcome you to the 2020/21 school year!
I am a Bilingual Special Education Teacher. I was born and raised in the Dominican Republic, I immigrated to the United States in 2008. I have been a middle school teacher at West Bronx Academy For The Future for four years. This year, I will be teaching 8th grade English Language Arts and 8th-grade Social Studies for the small class and integrated co-teaching classroom. I work with students who have physical disabilities, learning difficulties, or other special needs. I believe all students can learn. I have high expectations for all of my students. To support the learning of students with disabilities, I provide students with a variety of learning experiences to meet their individual needs. I adapt lessons to each students' abilities. Assessing learning needs, advising parents, and monitoring student progress is part of what I do. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions or concerns [email protected]. I will be doing parent outreach weekly. My focus will be to ensure that every child, every day, is finding a way to feel connected and challenged by new learnings and experiences.
I received my B.A. from CUNY Queens College (2014) with a degree in Sociology and my M.S. from CUNY City College of New York with a degree in Bilingual Special Education (2019).
I am looking forward to a productive year! Get ready for an exciting year!
